Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Muhammad Naufal Kamaruddin, an individual developer operating the ThatFridge app and service ("ThatFridge", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use ThatFridge.

1. The service

ThatFridge helps you and your household track food inventory, expiry dates and shopping, and provides AI-generated suggestions (recipes, meal ideas, chat answers, receipt and photo parsing). Features may change, be added or be removed over time.

2. Your account

You must be at least 14 years old and old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and you must provide accurate information.
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password secure.
One account per person. Do not share credentials.
Tell us promptly at support@thatfridge.com if you suspect unauthorised use.

3. Subscriptions (ThatFridge Pro)

ThatFridge Pro is offered as an auto-renewing subscription with monthly and annual options. Current prices are shown in the app before you purchase.
A 7-day free trial may be offered to new subscribers. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, it automatically converts to a paid subscription.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
The subscription renews automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Unused portions of a free trial (if any) are forfeited when you buy a subscription.
Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms; we generally cannot issue refunds directly.
Price changes will be notified in accordance with App Store rules and, where required, will ask for your consent.

The free tier includes limited AI usage (currently 5 AI chat messages per week) and manual item entry. Pro removes AI limits and unlocks receipt/photo bulk-add, multiple and shared fridges, and advanced notification tuning. Specific limits may be adjusted.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you add (items, recipes, notes, photos, messages). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and process that content solely to operate and improve the service for you, including transmitting it to the AI providers described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having the right to submit the content you upload.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

break the law or infringe others' rights using the service;
upload malware or attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the service;
reverse engineer, decompile or scrape the app or API except where that right cannot be excluded by law;
resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the service without our written permission;
use the AI features to generate unlawful, harmful or abusive content.

6. AI features — no warranty of accuracy

AI-generated content (recipes, meal suggestions, chat answers, parsed receipt and photo data, estimated expiry dates and categories) may be inaccurate or incomplete. It is provided for convenience only and is not food-safety, medical, nutritional or allergen advice.

Always check food yourself before eating it and do not rely on ThatFridge to determine whether something is safe to consume, or to identify allergens. You use AI output at your own risk.

7. Intellectual property

The app, its design, brand, and code are owned by us or our licensors. The "PixelMix" typeface is used under licence from Andrew Tyler. Except for the rights expressly granted to use the app, no licence to our intellectual property is given.

8. Termination

You may stop using ThatFridge and delete your account at any time (Profile → Delete account). We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. 4–6, 9–12) survive termination.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, or that AI output will be accurate.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ThatFridge and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data loss, food spoilage, or illness, arising from or related to your use of the service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD 50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ThatFridge and its operator from claims arising out of your content, your use of the service, or your breach of these Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Courts located in Malaysia have exclusive jurisdiction, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any competent court.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here with an updated date and, for material changes, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.

14. Apple App Store — additional terms

These Terms are between you and the operator of ThatFridge only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. To the extent the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app (including product-liability, legal-compliance or consumer-protection claims). Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as "terrorist-supporting", and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Your use is also subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and the standard Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which supplements these Terms.
